How we booked 2 roundtrip flights to French Polynesia for $375!

Hey Reader!

If you guessed that we went back to French Polynesia in our last email, then you were correct!!

We don't often go back to the same country multiple times, only because there are so many other great places to visit! But when I saw a flight deal to French Polynesia (which is the beautiful Bora Bora, Moorea, Tahiti and more) for $350, I had to jump on it!

We absolutely loved French Polynesia the first time we visited! The water is to die for, the people are amazing and the food was delicious!

Did you know French Polynesia is one of the few places in the world that you can actually swim with whales?!

Anyways, let's get into how I booked this for so cheap!

Travel hacking!

What is travel hacking? Travel hacking is the process of signing up for credit cards, collecting the bonuses that go towards airline miles or hotel points, and cashing them in for free flights, hotel stays and other travel expenses.

Last year, we got this card which is a great intro to travel points card, and had a great signup bonus. Meaning when you spend a certain amount of money within the first couple months, you get extra points in your account. And right now, you can get 60,000 bonus points when you sign up!

With this travel card, you can basically use the points and spend them on travel! Which is great especially if you're already spending the money, might as well use it for travel!

Points can be transferred to numerous airline and hotel partners at a 1:1 ratio. This adds flexibility and often allows you to get even more value from your points.

After, we got the card, and spent money on normal things we would have used a debit card for, we were credited extra travel points for signing up! . Then we basically waited for a good flight deal to use them. You're going to want to sign up for cheap flight notifications, like this. During the spring, we got a notification that Air France (which we can use our Chase Ultimate Rewards with) had flight deals to French Polynesia!

Once we choose the dates that worked for us, we spent a total of 127,000 Air France points (or Ultimate Reward points) and only $372 dollars for 2 people!! That's unreal! We really couldn't pass up going back to French Polynesia!

And spoiler - this trip to French Polynesia was even better than our first one! You can watch our first video we've posted here.

Anyways, that's how we travel to beautiful places for cheap! If you have questions about travel hacking, reply back! We'd love to hear from you!

In October, we did something crazy! We trekked for 5 days and over 40 miles from Cusco, Peru to Machu Picchu! If you've never been to Peru, or never heard of this, the Salkantay trek is a popular trekking route that goes from the Andes Mountains to the Amazon jungle and ends at Machu Picchu, with elevation up to 15,000 feet! And we may have been a little crazy, because before that we had never done a backpacking trip, never hiked 40 miles in 5 days and never hiked at over 10,000 feet. Read...

We just booked a trip back to one of our favorite places we've ever visited! We often don't go back to the same destination twice, just because there's so many other cool places to visit. But we're so excited for this one! We'll give you a few clues to see if you can guess before we share more details in the next email. This destination has multiple islands so we're excited to visit some more that we missed the first time. It's been a few years since we've visited this destination This...

When we traveled to Laos last fall, it is not easy to fly into Laos from Oregon so we had fly into another country, and chose Vietnam. We knew Vietnam was huge, and would only have a few days, so we could choose between Hanoi or Da Nang as our entry point, and we ended up picking Da Nang. We had 5 days to explore as much of Da Nang and the surrounding area as possible, and we absolutely fell in love with Vietnam! We stayed in Hoi An at the Hoi An Riverside Villas, and loved it! The place was...
