In October, we did something crazy! We trekked for 5 days and over 40 miles from Cusco, Peru to Machu Picchu! If you've never been to Peru, or never heard of this, the Salkantay trek is a popular trekking route that goes from the Andes Mountains to the Amazon jungle and ends at Machu Picchu, with elevation up to 15,000 feet! When we traveled to Laos last fall, it is not easy to fly into Laos from Oregon so we had fly into another country, and chose Vietnam. We knew Vietnam was huge, and would only have a few days, so we could choose between Hanoi or Da Nang as our entry point, and we ended up picking Da Nang.
